The Shield (Micki)

My daughter had an end of the year project and she wanted to make a Roman shield. She wanted to make it out of wood even thought the ancient ones were made out of metal. Then my dad had the brilliant idea fo making it out of the sattelite dish he had just put in the garbage (thanks dad). Shhhhhh.....don't tell Direct TV or Dish Network or whoever. We thought it was a great idea. We googled images of shields and she picked the one she wanted to do. Her dad spray painted the blue part and then she hand painted the other colors. She did a really good job. I was so proud of her. Then I used some E6000 to glue the straps on the back. We loved it. She got an A on the project. However she got marked down for using metal.....WHATEVER. lol

Now, that is a neat project! I can't believe they marked her down for using metal. I realize the original shields were not metal (or were they???), but other than that, it's perfect. Great job!

Still working with workmen on our getaway, so I won't be blogging just yet. I took a break, came home (where I have computer access) and decided to visit. I miss everyone. Maybe I can blog again soon.

Hope you girls are doing well.

XO,

Sheila :-)
